Securing Seats for Presentations
Standing or sitting in the aisles of presentation rooms is not permitted. All rooms are set to the capacity approved by the fire marshal. Participants will be seated in the order of arrival until the room reaches capacity. Saving seats for other participants is not permitted. All participants will be asked to leave the presentation room at the end of the session.
Lost and Found
The lost and found is located at Attendee Registration in the Main Lobby. Please visit during the convention hours listed above to notify staff of lost items or to return found items. You may also email [email protected] to report a misplaced item, and we will contact you when that item is returned.
Coat and Luggage Check
For your convenience, a coat and luggage check will be available Monday through Friday, located in Exhibit Hall 1 near the Registration area. It will be open Monday through Thursday 7 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. and Friday 7 a.m. – 1 p.m. There is a fee of $2 per item. The coat and luggage check accepts cash payments only.
Food and Refreshments
Food and beverage kiosks will be located throughout the convention center for your convenience. The concession areas include freshly brewed coffee, soft drinks, and pre-prepared salads and sandwiches. During exhibit hours on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, a concession area will also be set up at the back of the exhibit hall. Meals are not included with your convention registration.
Waiver of Claim
In the course of your attendance at TCEA events, photographs and video may be taken of you by TCEA or others on behalf of TCEA to capture activities. This media may be used for advertising and promotion without any compensation to you, and you release TCEA of any liability thereto. If you do not authorize TCEA to use your image, please email [email protected].
Connecting to the Internet
Limited wireless internet is available throughout the presentation rooms and public areas using the password TCEA. To help us provide an adequate amount of bandwidth for all attendees, we will limit the bandwidth per device. You may experience delays when streaming video, downloading large files, and/or updating software. Important Note Regarding Personal Hotspots- There are an estimated 40,000+ devices online at the convention this week. We have worked diligently to ensure that there are only minimal delays in connectivity, but challenges may arise. To help us resolve any matters quickly and to eliminate disruptions, please do not connect to your personal hotspot devices. These affect the network, slowing things down for everyone.
Certificate of Attendance and CPE Form
You will have access to generate an official certificate of attendance with a report of all sessions and workshops you attended—and had your badge scanned at—after the convention. Most 2019 TCEA Convention & Exposition workshops and presentations are eligible for CPE credit hours. Credit hours are identified in the description of each session. Playground sessions, poster sessions, and presentations on the exhibit hall floor will not be tracked, but you can keep track of them for your personal records, if desired. TCEA is registered with the State Board of Educator Certification (SBEC) as an approved provider of professional development in the state of Texas. The Texas Education Agency (TEA) provides a tracking worksheet for your personal use. You can find this worksheet and additional information regarding your responsibility for maintaining a record of your CPE credits on the certification section of the TEA website. Attendees not residing in Texas should contact your local school district or state Department of Education for information on CPE policies.
