TCEA 2017 travelAustin Bergstrom International Airport is 15 minutes from downtown.

Taxi rates begin at $25 for one person, one way. Super Shuttle is approximately $14 one way.

Capital Metro, Austin’s public transportation system, offers an express flyer shuttle to and from the airport and convention center for $1.50 each way. The shuttle runs 5:30 a.m. to midnight.

Shuttle Service

Complimentary shuttle service is provided Monday through Friday between the Austin Convention Center and the hotels listed below. The shuttle will pick up and drop off passengers at the Trinity Street side of the convention center.

During peak times in the morning and late afternoon, buses will run approximately every 15-20 minutes. During off-peak times, buses will run approximately every 30 minutes. Please note that due to traffic, the shuttles may experience delays. Shuttle pick-up locations are posted at each hotel on the route.

Light Rail

Capital MetroRail offers comfortable and reliable passenger service to downtown Austin next to the Austin Convention Center. Nine stations are located along the 32-mile line, and all trains stop at each station. Fares run between $2.75 each way. For schedules and details, click here.


The Austin Convention Center has two parking garages: one at Cesar Chavez and Brazos Street (entrance on Brazos), the other located between 4th and 5th Street (entrance on 5th Street). Parking is approximately $13-36 per vehicle per day, depending on length of time.

The Hyatt Regency Austin, located at 208 Barton Springs, will offer also parking for attendees that want to park at the hotel and take the convention shuttle route which picks up at the front entrance of the hotel. The cost for parking here is $5 per hour, with a maximum of $26 per day and there is no fee for using the convention shuttle.

There are additional lots in the vicinity. We recommend using ParkMe, a free app that helps you find the cheapest and closest parking near you.


Housing will open at 9 a.m. CT on September 14th.

TCEA has secured specially discounted rates at a selection of recommended hotels. These discounted rates are available through TCEA’s housing bureau, not the individual hotels. The deadline for reserving rooms in the TCEA block at discounted rates was January 12.

The housing bureau will continue to take reservation changes and cancellations until Jan. 30. After that date, all changes and cancellations may be made directly with the hotels.

For booking a new reservation, you may contact hotels in the TCEA block directly to make a reservation at the prevailing rate. The following website may be helpful in locating other hotels in the Austin area:

Deposit and Taxes

A credit card is required to confirm all reservations. Please note that some hotels will charge this card as a required deposit. Hotels charging deposits will have this information noted in the hotel details on the housing website. All rates are subject to a 9 percent lodging tax if you are tax exempt and 15 percent if you are not tax exempt. Your credit card will be charged for any cancellation fees if you cancel after October 13. See the cancellation policy below.


Changes and cancellations may be made online using the reservation acknowledgement number provided on your reservation confirmation email. Cancellations received after October 13 will be charged a $50 cancellation/processing fee. There is no penalty for changing hotels within the designated convention hotel list, name(s) on a reservation, arrival, or departure dates.

A cancellation fee in the amount of one night’s room and tax will be charged if you cancel your reservation after December 1. Cancelling directly with the hotels will not waive any housing cancellation policies or fees.

Scam – Warning!

Please be aware that TCEA does not contact individuals and/or companies with special deals on accommodations for the TCEA Convention & Exposition. We have received complaints that unaffiliated companies have contacted attendees and exhibitors offering discounted hotel reservations. These offers are scams; individuals have reported lost deposits and fraudulent activity in connection with these activities. The only approved reservation link is the one included in your attendee confirmation.

Attendee Visas

TCEA does not issue formal invitation letters for visas to attendees of TCEA sponsored conferences. We can, however, issue a Visa Support Letter to assist with your visa application.

Requesting Visa Support Letters

TCEA is able to provide visa support letters to attendees, presenters with scheduled and confirmed presentations, or registered exhibiting personnel. TCEA does not provide letters for transport of vendor or presenter equipment.

For visa support letters, you must complete the form below in its entirety. You will need to provide the following information:

  • Name (as it appears on your passport) and mailing address
  • Company name, company website, and company email address
  • Your title and role at the company
  • The name of the conference you are registered for
  • Your registration confirmation number
