Alberto and Mario Herraez

The eTwinz

Alberto and Mario Herraez, the eTwinz, were born and raised in Salamanca, Spain. They graduated from the University of Valladolid with a bachelor’s in education, moved to Utah to start their teaching careers, and earned their master’s degrees in Spanish as a Second Language from the International University of La Rioja. They also attended the University of Utah, where they were part of the ZION program. Currently, Alberto and Mario are working on doctorates focused on future-ready skills. 

Since 2018, the twins have carried the eTwinz brand to five continents, helping many teachers, schools, and organizations transform their practices through technology and cutting-edge approaches. They have been invited to present at some of the most reputable events around the world, and they work with nonprofit organizations, consult for companies like Microsoft and Adobe, and help many start-up companies grow and develop curriculums and educational programs.

In 2019, the eTwinz’s innovative practices in the classroom were recognized by UCET (Utah Coalition for Educational Technology), and Alberto was granted the Outstanding Young Educator of the Year Award. Davis School District honored the eTwinz with the 2019 Best of Davis Award. In 2020, the eTwinz were awarded the WE Teacher Award for their work in social-emotional learning and learning practices. In 2021, Alberto and Mario were included in the Top Ten North America Education Influencers list by T4 Education and EdTech Magazine’s (CDW) 30 K-12 IT Influencers to follow in 2021. In 2022, the eTwinz were recognized by ISC Research in their Top 75 Edruptors of 2021 list, and ISTE awarded them the 2022 20 to Watch Award.

In 2022, the eTwinz moved back to Europe to focus on their consulting firm, eTwinz Education, full time. Alberto and Mario also founded the eTwinz Academy to provide learners around the world with high-quality education.
