Dr. Denaé Lawson

Literacy Interventionist

Dr. Denaé Lawson is a K-2 Literacy Interventionist in Richardson ISD and is in her ninth year in education. She has taught second and third grade self-contained and fifth grade reading. She received her bachelor’s degree in international business from Texas Tech University, her post-baccalaureate in teacher certification from the University of Texas at Dallas, her master’s degree in educational administration from Lamar University, and her doctorate in education-school improvement from Texas State University. She is an advocate for equity in education and culturally responsive teaching. Denaé believes that every student should be engaged in learning, feel that their voices are being heard, be intrinsically motivated, take ownership over their learning, and feel that they belong in her classroom. She currently lives in Sachse, Texas, with her husband Jon, their daughter Priscilla, their miniature pig Hamlet, and their cat Othello.
